ANALOG ELECTRONICS LAB & POWER ELECTRONICS LAB
Objectives:- The lab is mainly designed to introduced semiconductors device & analog system design using semiconductor device. With the knowledge of the device students will be able to develop application oriented circuits, construct & test for its performance the major experiments includes designing, construction and testing of electronic circuits like receivers, amplifiers & oscillators.
Further students are trained in designing and testing of industrial controls system in power electronics lab. The major experiments include implementation of choppers, inverters, Control circuits for motor controls
LOGIC DESIGN & MICROPROCESSOR LAB:-
Objective:- The lab is mainly concentrating on introducing designing of digital systems to the students of ECE, CSE & ISE so that students are able to understand the working of a CPU and its designing. The students are introducing to the digital IC’s to construct combinational and sequential digital systems based on the logic gates. The major experiments include the designing of Adders, Subtractor, Multiplexers, Demultiplexers, Encoder, Decoder & Sequential digital systems like Counters & registers. Microprocessor lab is mainly used to give the concept of assembly language programming & give an idea to the students that how to interface the peripherals like Stepper motor,DAC,ADC,Keyboard,Temperature Sensor,Logic controllers etc., for E&C Students.
ANALOG COMMUNICATION & ADVANCED COMMUNICATION LAB
Objectives:- Communication is the basic need of people, basically a communication system is of analog or digital type, hence the purpose of this lab is to provide a basic and advanced information in the area of communication.
The student gain information about the different filtering process done both at the Tx & Rx side, & also able to analyse a the difference in various analog modulation techniques such as “AM,FM,PM” etc., in analog communication system lab.
Because of the advances in digital IC technologies & high speed computers, digital communication systems are simpler and cheeper compare to analog systems.
Hence the students are exposed to the areas of advanced communication techniques in the ADC lab. The important areas covered are:
1. Digital Modulation Techniques 2. Multiplexing 3. Advanced Digital Modulation Techniques 4. Microwave Systems 5. Antenna Systems 6. Optical Fiber Systems
SYSTEM DESIGN LAB
Objectives:- The main objective of the lab is to introduce the integrated circuits fabrication techniques to the students of ECE. The students are trained in the lab to write a program, to describe hardware of the system to be developed, then to simulate the program to verify the design and then to implement it on a FPGA or a CPLD device. Students are introduced to XILINX software to perform the experiments. Further they are introduced to the designing of very large scale integrated circuits (VLSI) using softwares like MEMSPRO & MICROWIND for both Analog & Digital system design.
Some of the major experiments students conduct in the lab are designing of combinational digital system like address for ALU, multiplexers, Encoders, Decoders, Demultiplexers & 32-bit ALU.Apart from this students are also trained to design sequential digital systems like Flip-flops, counters. At the end of study of the lab a student will be able to design a CPU, the heart of the computers system. Further in the study of the VLSI lab, the students are trained to design layout for the fabrication of different digital and analog circuits & to test their design using MEMSPRO software.
The successful completion of the prescribed experiments in the lab enables a student to gain complete knowledge of IC fabrication technique and testing. This help a student to get a placement in companies like IBM, Robert Bosch National Semiconductors, Microchips, etc.,
PROJECT LAB:-
Objectives:- All undergraduate programmes in engineering require that every student does a project during their final study. Generally this is the only experience student undergoes which integrates different dimension of solving real life problem. The student are motivated to come up with interesting and imaginative solutions to a well define problems. The projects are done by groups of students, distribution of task among the group members, communication among the group members are under the purview of the faculty member. The project undertaken by the students may fall under 3 broad categories: Hardware, software & modelling and simulation. The process of implementation for these 3 categories would differ from each other, and hence would require a different method of planning, implementation and documentation.
The activities related to solving a real life problem would involve:
1. Problem defnation 2. Criteria to be satisfied in solving problem 3. Generation of many possible solution. 4. Evaluation of these solution 5. Selection of optimal solution 6. Implementation of selective problem 7. Documentation 8. Management of interaction between participating individuals to facilitates speedy solution.
The project lab is furnished with upgraded PC’s with relevants softwares required to carryout the project work by the students.
